  1. Used original shop manual for the 1960 Plymouth Valiant automobile. The cover has a very light amount of red paint overspray on it but the inside of the book is clean. Asking $16 plus $5 domestic shipping via US Post Office Media mail. Paypal, money order, or personal check accepted for payment. Thanks, Terry Boyer Lititz PA 17543
  2. Original 1960 Plymouth shop manual, used but in great shape. Covers Savoy, Belvedere, and Fury models. Asking $18 plus $5 domestic shipping via US Post Office media mail. Paypal, personal check or money order accepted for payment. Thanks! Terry Boyer Lititz PA 17543
  3. I worked in the TV picture tube industry for 30+ years. The early TV picture tubes also used metal cone construction where the front glass was attached to the metal cone. I think this was done to ensure the integrity of the assembly when it was placed under vacuum to draw all the oxygen out of the assembly. Just like the headlight bulbs, TV tubes eventually went to all glass construction. Terry
  4. Malcom Bricklin, the man behind the Bricklin auto, is better known as the person who brought the Subaru auto to the US. With that success he started his own auto company to make Bricklins. They were supposed to be a safety sporty car and were assembled in Canada, St. Jon New Brunswick I believe. The cars were not accepted well and had issues, especially with the gull-wing doors. Their production did not last long and only a few thousand were made. One recently showed up at a used car lot near where I live in PA. Its still sitting there so I guess the demand for them is low. Terry
  5. A Hollywood movie was made about Preston Tucker and the Tucker auto. You might want to get a copy of it to watch. I believe Jeff Bridges played Preston Tucker in the movie. Terry

    The Datsun

The iconic car of Datsun is the 240Z sports car. It put Datsun name out for all to see. It was quite a car for the money. The Datsun 510 sedan made its way on to the racetrack and helped Datsun market its brand. These cars were popular in the 1970's. Terry
  7. How about 1988 model cars as antiques?? That is really scary! Terry
  8. I would like to know "the rest of the story" behind this high school assignment. Is it to lean about automotive history, technical writing, why these brands disappeared, ect. I agree its refreshing to see young people inquiring about old cars. Terry
  9. I have not seen that one but I did have a similar one that held one headlight bulb and a bunch of smaller bulbs. It had the original label which showed it was made for trucks as it may have been an ICC rule to carry one of these. I used it as an accessory item for my 1937 Dodge truck. Terry
  10. Gil, you are doing a great service for the old car hobby. Heck, I would be in line for a ride or picture too! My thinking is that when kids get old enough to make their own money and choose how to spend it, they might be looking to invest it in a non US car brand for fix-up and driving. Most of them ride in non-US branded cars as their family car and there is a good chance that exposure will carry over to what they might want in an old car to fix up and enjoy. I would be happy to see the car hobby grow with young blood no matter what age or brand of car they like. Terry
  11. Young and early middle age adults do not seem to have the interest in old cars that many of us grew up with. I think they see cars as disposable transportation items. My son likes old cars and takes many photos of them but his interest is in foreign makes, a category that has not been very strong in US the old car hobby. The foreign car resto and show may be the fast growth area of the AACA in the future. I am seeing a lot more VWs at car shows than ever before. Maybe they are today's version of the Model A? Terry
  12. I bought my first new car in 1973, a Chevelle SS w/ 350ci, 2bbl, auto trans. Memorable for all the wrong reasons like rust out and poor fuel economy. So I was taken back by seeing a 1973 Laguna featured in Hemming Classic Car. That '73 is one car I would never want back again. Classics, like beauty, are in the eye of the beholder. Terry
  13. Just got the latest (January 2014) issue of Hemmings Classic car and they are featuring a 1983 Olds 98 Regency in this issue. Nice write up about the car. I bought a new Z-28 Camaro in 1983 and I still can't think of a car from this time frame as an antique. Terry
  14. I have not seen a MOTORS manual that covers your year. All that I have seen start with 1935 and go up from there. Motor Age service manuals do go back to the 1920s but the ones that go back that far are hard to find. The Dykes would be a good place to start. Terry
  15. Continuing with the selling of my literature collection is this book which is an older reprint of mechanic's repair information for 1931-36 Plymouths. It covers carb adjustments, ignition, transmission, rear axle, brakes and all mechanical repairs or adjustments for these cars. It does not cover any body or interior information. Book is in new unused condition. Asking $12 plus $5 domestic shipping via media mail. Personal check, paypal or money orders accepted for payment. Thanks, Terry Boyer Lititz PA 17543
  16. Original used Plymouth shop manual covering 1957 and 1958 models. This book is also used with the 1959 Plymouth shop manual supplement. Book has some light cover wear but inside is in good shape. Asking $18 plus $5 for domestic shipping via post office media mail. Paypal, money order or personal check accepted for payment. Terry Boyer Lititz PA 17543
  17. Original used 1957 Plymouth shop manual. Cover has a light coating of paint overspray on it but rest of book is in good shape. Asking $18 plus $5 domestic shipping by post office media mail. Personal check, money order or paypal accepted for payment. Thanks! Terry Boyer Lititz PA 17543
  18. Selling an original dealer brochure / flyer describing the conditioned air system for 1938 cars. Shows how this new feature will make winter driving better. I have two of these items. Asking $6 for one which includes domestic shipping or buy both for $10 shipped. Personal check, money order or paypal accepted. Thanks for looking, Terry Boyer Lititz PA 17543
  19. Chrysler stuff usually has DCPD and then the part number in the base of the mirror. With just the D-C marking it does not seem like they are Mopar parts. Terry
  20. I wonder if the Fast & Loud TV show guys in Dallas TX saw this yet?? Terry
  21. Dodge did make some big 6 cyl engines in the US during this time so the 6.0L as in Liter may be correct. In my parts books I found a 377ci for the Dodge 4 ton US trucks and a 331ci 6cyl for the 2 and 3 ton models. 377ci would be slightly larger than 6.0L but close. Terry
  22. Can you post a picture of the truck? That would help with ID and value. Terry
