  1. My observations, if I may: curved windshield, square doors; 3 external hinges, door handle lands between 2 horizontal body lines, vertical louvered hood with ID panel above the louvers, heavier than a basic pickup (>1/2T).

I looked at the Reo, Mack, Chevy, GMC, Dodge, Indiana, White, Brockway and maybe a couple more. All via Google images and http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/OldTrucks/ - my conclusion is: "You know - those old trucks are really cool!"

But - I am no help on this today, but thanks for the fun of looking!

  2. Shogun - can you tell us anything more? For a first post, you've picked a tough one. I think it's comical that TrickyRichard comments with a negative tone, and poses no guess. I was heading down the Chalmers/Saxon/EMF lanes but have run out of time. Good Luck!

  3. Chris - your Avanti looks great. If I haven't told you, the color you chose is excellent. She is meant to be subtle until riled. Once riled, she's ... - you fill it in Chris! Enjoy the beautiful weather and thank you for the pictures of another VA treasure. I appreciate seeing the grace and beauty, being I'm employed by the VA, times 20+ years. :)

  4. Hey John - time to rest a bit after that stretch of busy-ness. Great job with the Jag. Just where are you going to put all the hardware you keep bringing home? You'll have to build a separate building for all the trophies, plaques, and honors that your wonderful vehicles garner. I agree - the Avanti shows well and the JD looks tough now with it's new front "bling!" Keep up the great work.

  5. Bryce - I commend you on your plans and your love of the old car hobby. No matter what you buy, please, please, please value the time you spend with your Grandfather and Father. Absorb their knowledge and wisdom. Question them about everything and have them explain their logic and reasoning. The stories they share and the knowledge you glean, will be the most valuable lessons and memories you will have. Get them and keep them involved. I wish I had and I regret not taking the time to do this. Cars and projects come and go. Family involvement and stories passed down, stay forever. Good Luck my friend.
