Hey guys! I cannot wait to get my 47' done. Gonna make a road trip to MN and cruize with you to the Whitaker dealership. Will be plenty to hit between here in PA and there I imagine. Great times and great memories with GREAT Buick people. Rock on! Matt  -
Looks great Keith! Enjoy

check your local auto parts store in the "HELP" section. I saw a kit at one of our local ones. Don't remember if it was Advance Auto Parts or Pep Boyz. Matt

A futureliner of course -
I received the new piston cup in the mail today, but since it was my birthday, I celebrated by taking the afternoon after work with my lovely missus and went to the casino. Had a really great time. Tomorrow I will try to finish up the valve body and get the transmission assembled again. But, I'm not going to rush myself. If it takes another day to do it right, then so be it.

John, Righ now this is my "Rattle-can Roadmaster". I'm just trying to prevent further damage. Rattle cans are cheap enough to cover the sanded metal. I don't even know if I will ever get to the point of sanding it back off. That might be for the next owner. Time will tell. In my opinion, the car is very much salvageable and I intend to do some rust repair and panel replacement before it finds a new home.

After a much needed break, I'm done with the front end sheet metal alignment! I'm so happy and relieved! I just have to finish installing the remainder of the fender bolts. I have a few more odds and ends to finish up on the doors, then a final check of the orher parts that are gonna be painted. Quite suprising that it only took me 3 hours. I've dreamt of all the different ways to get this thing to line up. Some were nightmares! Finally, the best thought option was the first I tried! -
Yesterday I did some "Uni-colored Rust preventative measures". Already the car looks better and the elements won't affect it too much. I also have a tarp on the car. I had fun. I love working on my Buicks. Just have to remember that I cannot get attached to this one as I progress along. Today, I work on the 47'. Matt

Drained the transmission yesterday and pulled the pan. Took the valve assembly off and took apart. Managed to take it apart further this time. Looks as if someone else has been in here before. Note that one of the pictures has scratches all over the steel plate. Seems that my car was built late 56 and one of the piston seals is larger, (low servo) and is more like a 57. I have the wrong seal and Jim from Jim's Dynaflow is sending me the correct one. So, waiting for the piston cup and then I'll try to get it put back together.

I transferred the title today and picked it up. I have a grill for it, a NOS set of rocker panels and extensions for the doors and behind the doors. I couldn't turn over the motor by hand, but I think it will with a little work. The motor is complete and the radiator is in the trunk. The inner fenders are there and I'm going to try to get the front end put back on the car a.s.a.p. I have another set of rear fenders and another header for the convertible top. The rest of the top looks really good. Still has the wooden bow intact. The chrome on everything needs to be redone, but what can be expected. The gages look really good in the dash. The floors and the trunk need patches, but with what I've done with my 47, it should'nt be too bad. I've seen worse repaired. Was a good day! A Buickful day! Matt

See my new thread. "48 Roadmaster convertible (finally fell into my posession)" -
I've been talking about this convertible since Hershey 2012. I was finally able to purchase it at the right price. I'm not, repeat NOT starting another project. This one will be for sale in the very near future. I think I have most of the big pieces to have a nice builder for someone. I'll post pictures in a bit when I get home.

Figured I would bring the post back to the top. I should be starting back on the sheet metal this weekend. I think that I've had enough of a breather working on the 56. And, if all goes well, it might be ready to drive by this weekend. On another note, I think the bug is biting again and I'm going to try and buy that 48' RM convertible. I call tomorrow and start the "price adjustment" process. Wish me luck.
