  1. I saw a 52 super convertible on e-Bay today. 2 things struck my curiousity. 1) no power windows-I thought all Buick Convertibles of the era came standard w/ power windows and power seat. (However, the ad stated that it was converted to 12 volt, so maybe they did away w/ the PWs) 2) power steering. I have heard conflicting info about this-Some say only Roadmasters had this option, and others have said that a few Supers had this option also. Thanks much-Dave BCA#46470 1952 56C

  2. If memory serves me correctly, those 'I's are actually 1's. Someone posted a picture of a vin w/ 2 different styles of '1's on it, but I cant find it in my older posts since my posts before today aren't showing up. My car has only one 1 in the VIN- the first digit, indicating, like yours that it was manufactured in Flint. -Dave BCA#46470 1952 56C

  3. After a somewhat long delay on my part, I am happy to report that I finally, sucessfully, registered it today at NY DMV!! :) (Bought it from out of state on a bill of sale only) Will try to figure out how to put up pix again as Image Cave seems to be no more:(. Floor pan and trunk pan replacement are next! (ps- still looking for a good trunk/floor pan for same) -Dave BCA# 46470 1952 56C

  4. You're welcome! My '52 56c has the same color combo on the dash. Exterior color is verde green. Radio is out of my car also lol, but it came with one out of a '53 special-Dave BCA#46470 1952 56c

Thank you for posting. It's just one of those very interesting auctions. How does an uber-rare 51 top of the line Buick convertible end up in the alpine region of Wisconsin, there so long it's going back to nature (drivers side)?

Not sure what production was but outside of the Roadmaster Estate Wagon there had to be scant few 51 Roadmaster convertibles made and most probably went to warmer climes then north central Wisky.

I am trying to get a hint of the color and the lower dash appears to be that "mint" green so popular in the early 50's.

Not sure if that translates to body color as I am no 1951 Buick expert. But thank you for posting. When it was deposited, it was straight and appears to be complete. There it has sat for decades. (Look at that moss "pile" on the right rear fender)

And why do they always take the radios out of these old cars???!!!

  5. No worries, thanks much!:)

Unfortunately we have not reached the instantaneous email generation welcome response level yet. :( I wish we did have this for online sign ups as it is pretty much expected in this day and age, but we are getting there slowly. Thanks for understanding.

Give the office a call on Monday and they can confirm all is good and give you your membership number. They can help you with the "Secret code"... maybe..too. In theory if there are some left you should receive a 2011 BCA Roster which will have the CO members listed. If not one will come out again probably in 2013, but in the meantime you can contact the CO BCA Chapters. Find them here BCA - Regions. I know the Rocky Mountain Chapter is pretty active as I get their newsletter.

    Thanks again.
