Please contact me if you need body/trim parts for a '42 coupe. Someone is selling a complete body and related parts (no frame or chassis) here in Portland, OR. I'm thinking about making an offer but only really need the trunk lid/hinges and right front fender. I'd like to find one or two others who need parts to help defray the cost. Wow, sorry I didn't reply sooner! I work full time and have a family so don't have much time during the week to use the forum. As to the issue discussed here, I think a person has a better chance of getting a reply if they use the PM or email function because it is more likely the original poster will get it. On the other hand, I got a message in my email about the post so maybe there is no difference. I certainly don't understand why anyone would get up in arms about adW13's post and clog up the forum with a complaint about it. Regarding the original question, I'll reply to adW13 directly.

I'm looking for a rear window for a business coupe. It can come from 1941-48 Chrysler and DeSoto, or Dodge D19, D22, D24 business coupes. The part number is 901 819. Any leads would be appreciated. (I already know about the Chrysler business coupe being parted out on Ebay right now. The rear window has been sold.) Thx.

Are you sure the VIN isn't listed separately from the title number? The Washington title for my 1946 New Yorker had VIN in one section of the form and a Washington title number in a second section. The Washington title number was 10 digits, like yours. -

The Windsor Deluxes built in LA were numbered 67,026,001 to 67,033,209 so the VIN in the door is in the correct range. Engine codes seem to have ranged from C51-1001 to C51-84487. Not sure what the number on the title refers to. -

Jack - Did that one have an original engine and transmission and driveline? The heap in my driveway lacks those key features. If I keep it, I might also be interested other parts you don't need for your project. I think you already had a body, and maybe an interior. Jeff

According to the Standard Catalog, the wheelbase is 118 and the overall length is 210 inches. The width is not listed.

These engines are located on Orcas Island in Washington state. The seller is named Don and his cell phone number is 360-622-6282. He is asking $500 for both, OBO. I don't know any more than what I wrote above. They are too far away for me. -

I'm thinking of buying a '46 New Yorker that lacks an engine and a transmission. Another person in that same town has an industrial straight 8 of the same era for sale that he says has been rebuilt. He indicated that it has a different kind of bellhousing. Could that engine be mated to a standard fluid drive transmission of that time period to go in the New Yorker? I'm sorry but I don't have any pictures or engine codes at this time, and probably won't have that info until I am there and will have to make a decision on the spot as it is very far away.
