does anyone known if these are 20s or 30s Cadillac headlights ?

53 Skylarks are like 57 Thunderbirds , they used to bring big money but only bring a fraction now . Had a friend restoring 6 53 and 54 Skylarks , pulled the plug on all of them due to the values vs costs .

Looked on ebay , lots of grospoint mats etc for sale but not yardage .

Lol grospoint is foam backed so its not really moldable

I contacted 7 different vendors , they all seem to get it from acc and they have it but will no longer sell yardage , they say supply chain issues and they want to save what they have for their kits . They do not offer a kit for a 1953 eldorado so I asked if i could just pay the price of any of their kits and they could just send me the yardage they would use without cutting it seems like it would be less work for them but they would not do that .

Anyone have 5 yards or so of red grospoint carpet for sale ? acc has it but wont sell the yardage and does not offer a kit

A friend of mine recommended I use Shell Omala S2 GX 680 to replace the transmission fluid in my 1927 Packard . Any thoughts on the correct fluid ?

A dew quarts that must have been some pretty thin coverage !! Takes over a gallon to just prime the thing !!

The underside is finished in red oxide primer .

Exactly many different variables from car to car , its like buying a hvlp gun you can spend 100 bucks or a thousand .

Yes there are less expensive ways to do things , all depends what the final goal is , it is like chrome plating you can spend 10 or 100k .

Quality high build primers are more like 400 a gallon

When a gallon of base coat is 1500 at the local ppg dealer now times that by 3 gallons for a cadillac and it doesnt take long to get to 12k.

It was red but doesn’t really matter anymore , just bought a quart of blue and it was 400.

Seems like it goes up 20 percent every month nowadays !!

Just wrapping up the paint work on a 53 Cadillac restoration and the total bill for paint materials from start to finish came in at 12 k ! This is getting insane .
