  1. Thanks fellas, for the welcome and the info. I am most impressed to be told I have a good memory, it's a long time since I have been told that. Must go and tell the wife (don't think she will believe it though!!).

I had intended to use insertion rubber until told not to. My mind is now at ease to have the use of insertion rubber confirmed by someone else.

    Many thanks,

    John

  2. G'day All.

I'm a new member of this forum, from Australia, where Budd bodied DAs are not exactly thick on the ground. Have been working on my DA Budd bodied sedan for many years (off and on) and an just getting stuck into it again. It's a long time since I removed the body from the chassis and I cannot remember if there was any material between the body and the chassis. I seem to recall that there was a sort of hessian type stuff, but I am not really sure. I have asked around locally and have got some conflicting answers. Some have said use nothing (metal to metal), others have said use insertion rubber (rubber strip with canvas material embedded in it). If some material is used, presume it would also extend down the sides of the chassis where body mounts. Also what about between chassis and fuel tank cover and chassis and "chassis covers" (between front fenders and radiator).

Would appreciate some advice from you guys.

    Regards,

    John
