  1. Rusty is correct. I borrowed one from a mechanic friend who bought his in 1955. On a hunch I walked into my local parts store with it & asked if they had seen this before. The counter man said "just a minute" & came out of the back of the store with an identical tool, on blister pack packaging yet! He said he haden't sold one in years that's why it was in back. Except for the fact that the new one has "Tawian" stamped on it, it's the same tool. It's takes a nano second to remove or install springs with this thing. VERY expensive at $15.17. I spent DAYS fighting with the springs. Talk about feeling like an ass!!!! PS: it also has a part that removes springs from bendix systems, such a deal!!!
  2. Does anyone know where I can find a "brake shoe return spring removing tool and installing wrench" ( So described in my 56 Nassau shop manual) the tool number in the book is C-3462. Thanks. Torry 56 Nassau 60 Adventurer 68 Newport
  3. The heat helps, but after you tighten the arms of the puller very tight on the lug studs & also tighten the center pin of the puller against the axle, Dont' be afraid to give the head of the puller a couple of good wacks with a baby sledge. I was reluctant to do this for a long time, then a retired Chrysler told me "you could get real frustrated or wise up & HIT IT!." I did & it works. Once you get it off, clean the inside of the hub & the tapered shaft of the axle, grease the shaft before you re-install. Good Luck Torry 56 Nassau 60 Adventurer 68 Newport
