I removed the distributor from my 331 for service taking a pic with my cellphone before noting the orientation of the rotor, problem is my phone went south after that & I had to do "a factory reset" on the phone. I got back MOST of my pics but not all. Guess which is one of the missing? Soooooo. is it possible to have the distributor in wrong (180o) & have the car want to start but never quite catching I THINK I have it in right but if an "almost start" is possible I may have it wrong. Confused? me to Thanks Torry

One of the few times I didn't go to the manual first. Mainly because so much of tells you something like "Removing door panels: first remove handles & windowlifts"! I don't have one of those pliers, but I'll chase one down. Thanks Torry

Can anyone tell me what/where the paint colors/location are on the trunk emblem on my Windsor? Thanks Torry

I found the trim code plate. Would you believe it's a stamped plate on the splash pan between the radiator & the grill. If you look down after opening the hood, it's on the right side. On my 60 Desoto it's on the firewall, go figure!

Try LSD in Chicago, (no not THAT LSD!) Lake Shore Drive. Starts on the North Side at Hollywood Blvd. (like the song says) & continues South along the lakefront past Yachts, Glass high rises, parks, & beaches. Spectacular with the top down on a summer night. About an eighteen mile trip.

Had a hell of a time getting on, Thanks again Pete. Anyone know where I can find the trim code on my 56 Windsor? Thanks

The P/S pump on my Windsor is attached to the rear of the generator, the reservoir cover is held by a strap type locking band around the reservoir. The locking strap has disappeared. Anyone have one??? Thanks Torry

The shop manual for my 56 shows several body/window adjustments. Problem is all info is for a sedan, mine is a 2dr hardtop (Windsor Nassau). Does anyone know is there is a suppliment or additional manual for this model?. Also the spec page addresses the various models for 56, New yorker, Newport, Imperial. It does not mention Windsor or Nassau.?????????? Thanks Torry 56 Windsor, Nassau 60 Adverturer 68 Newport & two Ford products

The shop manual for my 56 Nassau talks about resolving brake pedal or booster"chatter" by an adjusting screw on the side of the pedal linkage under the dash. Problem is, I nor my mechanic can locate ANY kind of screw, adjusting or otherwise. Can anyone help us out? Thanks Torry 56 Nassau 60 Adventurer 68 Newport 63 Galaxie rag 66 T-bird

I don't know much about pre war cars but I understand that Chrysler came up with this "Center Plane" brake system to get around the Bendix patent. Allegedly this goes back to the 20's. I don't know how to post a pic on this site but I can post one on email if anyone is interested. torry61@centurytel.net
