just in case you feel like throwing on something else instead of 30+ year old scratched and overpriced original center caps...
all you need is a blank 50mm cap with 46mm inner diameter and a 50mm cover
here you go

Hey Hemi!...no, I dont have one....but looked it up on ebay...comes with all kinds of cartridges....the ones offered have all but chrysler vehicles...
will this thing be able to read the codes from the Transmission with its built in software as well?
You need these 2 cable adaptors for your TC and the pictured modules for the 89-91 TC
just found and bought the 2 adapters on ebay...now I still need the unit itself...

Do you have any sort of diagnostic Scanner like the old Snap-On 2500 'Red Brick' as it use to be called? This thing can do a very thorough scanning of the A-604 on our TCs. That part number you see is the engine controller, the SBEC in this particular car. There is an adaptor to connect with the blue diagnostic connector behind the dashboard lower cover, below the steering column.

here we go again....5 days ago on my way to get my oil changed, the Transmission got into "the funny" mode...great!...5 mile drive to the shop...was not able to pull over so kept on going...at a max of 30mph...1 mile before the shop, everything went back to normal....ever since then, no issue.... fluid is perfect ( changed, new filter, new TCM and solenoid pack in 2021. no leaks...no noise...wondering, if it was a one time hickup...
also...other than the neutral switch/sensor, which other sensors do I have to replace? ( cant find anything in the factory repair book) and what are the part numbers for them? other than that, I am considering Hemi´s advice - looking for a PT cruizer trans....

Test the trunk seal in the same manner as testing the top against the windshield. Cut up strips of paper and place them all around the trunk lid to the body. Close the lid and pull out the strips of paper. If they come out easily that would be a potential problem area. The seal should be noticeable if it is damaged and causing leakage.
thanks! will report back!

4490791 Trunk weather-strip 1989-91 TC

alternative test:
you get in trunk
shut trunk
spray with water
trust that someone will let you out of trunk after they sprayed water and hope you did not drown in trunk due to trashed weather-strip
best alternative test suggestion ever!

Hello Fellas! here we go again....I checked everything for possible Inlets....quarter window seals are new...even the rubber seal on the top compartment....3rd brake light seals....all A OK! ..tail light drains are ok...antenna drain ok....I assume that the 2 drainage lines from the softtop compartment are not clogged ( but have to check for damage) ..rear reflector is sealed off with silicone....trunk lock is also sealed.......still; there is water in the trunk! I can only assume that it might really be the trunk seal itself!...can I use any generic seal or does it have to be this specific one? if so...does anyone have a part number?
thanks!!!!!!!

update 2: since the TC´s Lights are all LED, inside and out, I thought I`d place some in the instrument cluster....bad mistake...because it seems like the LED Flasher Relay does not have any electrical jurisdiction there....as soon as I replaced the LED´s in the cluster with the oldschool bulbs, I had perfect blinkers ( not dim or slow) front and back....still have the hazard issue: solid lights...waiting for another LED relay to see if that will fix it
just realized that I never wrote the update...well, after installing the new relay, all issues were history! all good and perfect now!

precautionary question in terms of the A604 Transmission with updated sensors, solenoid pack, TCM, fluid and filter...
at 66k, I noticed slips ( if you can call it that) from 2nd to 3rd...maybe a dozen times within the last 5 months....so not severly...
WHICH parts would I need to rebuild my transmission? OR, should I go the Hemi way and find a PT Cruiser unit and transfer the internals to the TC transmission? ( and if so, WHICH PT Cruiser transmission will be compatible?! )
correct answers only...hehe...

well...former owner replace the alternator....yesterday, I got these symptoms...and it seems like it is not charging the battery anymore...( the day before I checked and it was 14.2 volts at the battery....
checked grounds and connections....I suspect it might be the 2019 alternator that is already failing....
any other ideas?
UPDATE
Alternator was NOT replaced by previous owner...it was the original unit......
installed 120 AMP Alternator....everything is peachy now! ( no charge fluctuations and no self activating Wiper! )
Problem solved!
THANK YOU HEMI and Mensanguy, Digger914, Garnet & Gold ( Bob) for your input!!!!!!

Hey Hemi!
yes,..a couple of modifications...but I dont think that an active bass and a new head unit would cause so much trouble...what about an alarm system?
anyway...I ordered a 120 Amp alternator....I will also check out the SBEC in detail .....as soon as all these things are done, I will report back
alternator arrives tuesday/wednesday...
and I have to deal with my wiper issue....grrrr
The alternator is controlled by the Voltage regulator which is located in the engine control module, you know, that black plastic box next to your battery, the SBEC. It is integrated into the circuit board and is not a replaceable ‘part’.
There may be a possibility that it is only a wiring problem that could be traced out, but if you have made MAJOR modifications to the electrical system on this car, WHO KNOWS?
You have a Mitsubishi 3.0L powered vehicle with a Japanese made alternator, I drive a 1985 Plymouth Voyager with the same engine and same type alternator. [Admittedly, the van came with the 2.6L four cylinder engine. I installed the 3.0L ] So far in all the years I have driven this vehicle, over 265,000 miles, the same alternator [NEVER REBUILT] is still hanging on to its mounting brackets on that engine. Frankly, the GREATEST problem with alternators are the REBUILDERS who ‘repair’ them with inferior parts. It has been that way throughout my 60+ years in the industry.
