Well, I posted this in MAY this year and found a 1991 white/tan with less than 50kmiles in JUNE. for less than half the price....so I'm good....( white/black would have been my 1st choice though....)

Well I have finally come to a decision on my two TCs. Here's the run down:
My White 1990 Needs the Teves brakes system replaced as the electric motor on it seized up. I've spent way too much time trying to source parts to do the booster conversion with no luck. She runs just fine, starts up easy, burns a little oil and the convertible top has issues with the rear window. Body is solid, a couple of bubble spots with rust but no holes.
The Burgundy 1989 - Body is spotless, one small mouse hole in the convertible top. The problem is there is a rattle in the top end, sounds like under the valve cover. I talked to a couple of mechanics that were surprisingly familiar the these motors, they rattled of a list of possible issues, cam followers, lifters... and others I don't remember. Teves system is fine but passenger front caliper needs replacing.
I can send these to the bone crusher and get $275 each. I will part with both, package deal for $700.
If I get no takers I will be stripping them down and selling parts, but I REALLY don't want to go that route. I would hardly have time to do the repairs on these much less part out, package and ship parts...

my 91 TC has 2 identical driveshafts; this time, rockauto was almost the most expensive solution....so I ordered at Stockwiseauto.com.
$193 including Taxes&shipping for 2 Cardone 60-3250.

of course both boots rupture on a friday...went ahead and purchased 2 quickboots and regretted that decision after 2.5 hours, trying to fight that thing...called the shop that did the awesome job installing my cat&muffler and they said, they do not replace boots, only complete axles...for $750...great..and I thought, I was done...I suggested supplying the parts and they quoted me $350.
it is easy to find the left axle...but not the right one...( not on rockauto, not on ebay)
any hints? ( just read up on several threads discussing this issue...still not sure where to look or what to buy...part numbers would help)

damn...I knew it...I knew it would happen again...even before I bought it...and I should have read some posts about it...
just as my new TC is completed and the AC is better than new....the heater core tells me, it will fail very soon.
I did the job on my 90 white/black TC and it took me 3 days of 12 hours of work each day. I will not get to it right away since I just got the AC going...here's the question..since the AC would have to be disconnected anyway, would you advise to replace the evaporator core as well? I think so.....fix both and forget them forever.....I hate to even think about it...

I assume, in order to replace the entire Parking Brake Cable section, I have to get all these components, correct?

I could not take it anymore...the more I looked at it, the more I hated it...now, its off...and I have to deal with 10!!!! fakking holes...
there is no way around it; I need a new trunk lid...if anyone has a white one for sale, please let me know!

OK....zero leads...so I decided to remove the Rack and plug the holes with the smallest Rubber Stem Bumpers available...
if anyone has a Trunk Lid for sale...in white...with no rust...let me know ( yeah, I know ..ebay...but they are overpriced and they avoid answering questions...)

they charged 20 to ship it all back. not too bad at all!...the good thing is; all the AC components are now new ( except for the unit next to the heater core and the actual compressor) and will perform like new! and no need to worry about 30 year old hoses...

You almost have to strip the interior. Seats come out. Best if center console comes out. Door sill trim. Stainless door threshold trim. Interior side trim (at least loose to get to the one mounting screw), then there's screws in the top well and inside the compartment itself. Once you get them all loose...it comes out. There will probably be spacers on the mounts that go to the top well, just be aware. Oh, don't forget the wires for the light and switch as well as the pull cables for the tonneau latches on both sides.

I send in high and low side, all together a total of 4, eliminating one canister, custom fitting & welding, all other lines also required new barbs welded on. I asked them to relocate the connections and make them R134 native...all in all, including shipping:$342

So, at least for my '89, leave the stock silver one in place on the fuse block and use the one that shelbyone suggested above in place of the yellow flasher that is tucked up under the dash. I tied the ground in with the common ground down by the driver's left foot. It works as advertised! I do like the way the LED bulbs light up the housing. It has a much more even "warmth" to it and of course it is instant.
That makes the last things to fix on the car are the A/C lines and the transmission (3/4 synchro is SHOT, but it can still drive fine...spare will be going in).
This passed Friday I cruised home, top down, Pandora playing and the map application running through Blue Tooth...it was beautiful!
I got an invitation to a local car club that has 2 TC's in it. One is a red '91 owned by Bill Sheffer, whom I have tried to reach out to, and I am unsure of the other. I can't make their monthly meet up in October due to work unfortunately. There's a show this coming weekend I am going to try to go to as well. We shall see!
that just sounds wonderful! glad you got it all done! we should meet up!

update; as of today, the TC project is DONE..40 days of work went into it; 8 to 12 hours a day. of course, on the way to the shop today, both windshield wipers crapped out on me..in the rain...so instead of enjoying the TC, I had to to the linkage bushings...FUN.
picked up the car later today and was pleased with the job they performed. They refilled the AC with R134 and my brandnew AC components work like a charm and its damn cold...when I drove off, I smiled all the way home...the Magnaflow muffler sounds absolutely great! not too loud, not annoying, just right and it should have sounded like that for the last 30 years. Now, its all cosmetic stuff from here on...everything else is new, replaced, redone.

well...I should have been told the truth about my heater core - because it leaks and I should have also known better not to buy a TC with a defective heater core...spend too much money on a project TC that turned out to need almost everything replaced...
oh well....here we go..since I did this job once before, I know what awaits...but...which brand would you pick out of the rockauto options here ? ( for BOTH) ( Hemi mentioned that some Evaporator Cores have a very bad fitment issue)
