  1. OK!! The pitting is light around the body. I've been told (it's already in primer) that it can be filled with a primer that fills in the pits. The wood substructure has rotted around the windows and front door kick panels. The rest of the wood seems intact. Parts missing were the dash (I have purchased one, but I believe it is for a Master) headlight lenses, and no electrical wiring. Some of the trim pieces are broken. The carb has supposedly been rebuilt. I will try to get some more pics up too.
  2. I suppose that would have helped. It's Bristol, RI.
  3. Alas, time constraints ( as well as pushback to fix up the Wildcat ) require a sale. $2500 Pics and info here: 1929 Buick Model 116 - V8Buick.com
  4. Thanks. That 895 is on them, I believe, so I guess that makes them a '71-85 Rim. Cool. Not correct for the '65 Wildcat, but I bet they'll look sharp on it nonetheless. Thanks for the chart. John
  5. I just picked up a set of 15x6 Rallyes. Anybody know how do decode the lettering on the back as to what year they are?? Thanks, John
  6. Soooo......WHen and where for next year???
  7. Wasn't it just the "fireball 8" like it said on the valve cover???
  8. Thanks, Kevin. It works now.
  9. Kevin, For a couple of months now, I have been unable to log in to the website. My user name is cooterbfd. It says it can't find username cooterbfd. When I click on "forgot password" it sends the password to my email, saying my user name is cooterbfd. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John
  10. Thanks guys, this is all great info. i really appreciate it.
  11. Thanks for the link. How did you re-rivet it to the plate??
  12. Ok. I pulled the engine out, and dropped the oil pan. There is an access plate bolted to the bell housing behind the oil pan that has a felt gasket rivetted to it, and the gasket is in rough shape. Any suggestions on how it gets replaced??? Thanks, John
  13. Generally, that is a symptom of a bad resistor block. Did you try a new one? I believe it can be had at a parts store relatively inexpensively.
  14. Thanks. The auction ends tomorrow, and I was just wondering if the engine was the same. My tranny and rear should be fine, but if he's selling it all (and the wood rims) I thought I'd grab it all on a whim, but just wanted to make sure they were the same.
  15. I am restoring a 1929 Buick Standard (116) SOmeone is selling the driveline out of a 1927 Buick. If it is the same size Buick (the standard) will the engine, tranny and rear end/tourque tube fit on mine??? Thanks, John
  16. Anybody know what the deal was with that "QB Code" Canadian Cutlass S??
  17. I got a HUGE lesson in how important it is to inventory what you have, as well as how expensive it is to introduce your son to the hobby. I was looking for parts for my '29 Buick, and found headlight lenses ($200) and a radiator cap/oranment ($100). My son was very helpful in remembering details about the car, but unfortunately he accidentally broke a lens. WHen we got home, he found a radiator cap in the parts bin, a little better than the one I bought. Oh well, live and learn. Anyhow, best year I've spent in Hershey yet.
  18. Try oldbuickparts.com They may have something. Also Desert Vally auto DVAP.com
