  1. A few more pictures showing the engine and the double pin striping. Jay
  2. Sandy - Attached are the requested photo's of my 1932 Buick 8-86 Victoria Travelers Coupe. Painted in the original colors as shown in Buicks Brochure for this car in Riviera Green Light and Riviera Green Dark. Jay
  3. Thanks, Sandy! I'll download some pictures tomorrow and post them. John, thanks for clearing up the mystery surrounding the "odd" cap out. It makes sense since the old guy knew it went to a Buick, but just thought it as after-market. Jay
  4. Thanks, Leif. I figured they were probably the 1920's, but wasn't quite sure. I appreciate your input. Jay Kingston 1932 Buick Victoria Travelers Coupe
  5. Does anyone know what year these old Buick hubcaps are from? Three are brass and one is a light weight aluminum. The one without the Buick sign, I was told, was a replacement that could be purchased at an aftermarket auto parts store back in the day. Got these at a swap meet yesterday for $20 and the unusual one for free. Just adding to the theme on the Buick side of the garage. Thanks! Jay Kingston 1932 Buick 8-86 Victoria Travelers Coupe
  6. I guess he's never driven another Buick, especially the 80 Series. Same engine, torque and features!
  7. Thanks, Mark. Greatly appreciated! This will steer me in the right direction when I'm looking for tools. Jay
  8. What are the correct tools and Manufacturer for a 1932 Buick? Any help is appreciated! Regards, Jay Kingston Novato, Ca 1932 Buick 8-86 Travelers Coupe
  9. That's one good looking car, Marty! Jay Kingston Novato, CA 1932 Buick 8-86 Victoria Travelers Coupe
  10. Marty - Out of curiosity, what did you ever decide on which car you were going to sell? Jay Kingston Novato, CA 1932 Buick 8-86 Victoria Travelers Coupe
  11. All- I would like to thank everyone in helping me find a near perfect reconditioned front license plate bracket for my 1932 Series 8-86 Victoria Travelers Coupe. Much appreciated as I know it is a very difficult part to find. Not only found one, but two, though one was beyond the pail! Jay 1932 Buick Series 8-86 Victoria Travelers Coupe
  12. Dave- No holes in the floorboards for bolts were a footrest would attach. It appears that your research settled that question! Thanks for all your help in answering this question for me. Much appreciated! Jay John Kingston 1932 Buick Series 8-86 Victoria Travelers Coupe
  13. Dave- No problem with that. When I'm home tomorrow, I will be checking as now I am more than curious! Sandy had made a point to me earlier that by 1933 Buick would do just about anything to sell a car with whatever add on you wanted. That's where all the confusion comes in to no fault of ours, but Buicks. It seems that depending on dealers, company records, etc....all are different. So, you are not off base by any means! This just helps clarify where I (we) are all at on this subject. I truley appreciate everyone's input and help with this "mystery". Jay John Kingston 1932 Buick Series 8-86 Victoria Travelers Coupe
  14. Dave, you've made clear and accurate points all the way around. I will take a look under the car to see if there are two holes on both sides of the pan where the rests would have been installed. If they're there, it will tell us, that indeed, there was a footrest at one time in this car. Thanks for all the input. I'll keep everyone posted as to what I find. Jay
  15. Hi, Dave. Thanks for your help. According to a couple of people I've talked with, the 1932 Victoria 80 Travelers Coupe did NOT have the foot rail (rest) as it hindered peoples access in and out of the vehicle. The front passengers seat folds forward to allow people in and out of the vehicle on the passenger side only. If the foot rail (rest) were there in either the up or down position, it would still be in the way. It's beginning to sound like one of those Buick mysteries! I'm going to do a little more research and see what Mac Blair says. My car is one of his projects, so it has to be correct without them. Jay PS: Dave I will take a measurement just in case. I am still interested. J
  16. Thanks, Sandy! From what all my brochures show, the depiction of the interior on the Series 80 Travelers Coupe has the footrest. It appears that this was standard equipment and your Buick book seems to reinforce it..............Jay
  17. So, John, are you saying that it should have them since this is a large series, although, a Coupe? John
  18. Thanks, Guys! I appreciate the input. The Premiere Brochure shows them, but as Bob Engle states, they get in the way of the passengers getting into the back. I have been told the same thing in regards to the Coupes. Thanks again! It's one of those Buick mysteries that shows that it's there, but when asked by the people that know, they aren't. At this point I'm going to assume that they are not part of the Coupe package. Regards, John Kingston 1932 Buick Series 80 Victoria Travelets Coupe
  19. Are footrests for backseat passengers standard items in the 1932 Buicks or were they an option? Thanks! John 1932 Buick Series 80 Victoria Travelers Coupe
  20. Thanks, Paul. I sent you another e-mail. John
  21. Howard Buick was in San Francisco, where the trunks were made, on Van Ness Avenue. Howard split his time between SF and his ranch, where the race horses were up in Willits, CA. John
  22. Thanks, John. Sandy had mentioned the same thing to me. Would be like finding a needle in a haystack! John
  23. I've been looking for a front license plate bracket for a 1932 Buick 80 Victoria Travelers Coupe. I've heard that this was a new change over the 1931 that hung down in front of the radiator. I know it adheres to the front bumper between the spring and bumper. Any idea's where I might find one. Original or reproduction? Thanks! John
  24. Lamar, I saw a similar car coming up for sale at Barrett-Jackson this coming weekend in Las Vegas. And, yes, I must say, that '54 is a really good looking car! I'm curious to see what the Barrett-Jackson car will sell for?! Your pictures show the true colors. Check out the Las Vegas auction. The roof is a deeper blue. The car also has spoked wheels. A real beauty! Jay
