Thanks Owen, much appreciated! Jay

The Packard website is down for maintenance right now. Can anyone give me a short synopsis of the main points. Thanks! Jay
-
Thanks for all the input. I'll check out the Packard site. Jay PS: Steve, the wheels are wire.

Steve, I haven't. You think that might be the problem? Jay

I have a 1931 Cadillac Town Sedan and replaced the older tires because the steering was shimmering to the point that I had to pull the car over to the side of the road. Long story short, got new tires and the steering still shimmers. The steering seems tight. Any suggestions? Thanks! Jay

Thanks, Guys. Ended up with the Coker Tires. Jay

Recently, I had asked which Car Transport company was the best for shipping an antique automobile (in this case, my 1931 Cadillac). Anyway, after many suggestions, I went with InterCity Lines. They were helpful, fast, worked around my schedule, and got the car here in 2 days from Oklahoma. Picked up on Tuesday and delivered to my door on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. The driver Craig was a great guy as was Jim Bergeron at their office in New Jersey. They kept me updated, called during transport and did a follow-up call to make sure everything was fine. A great company to recommend!! Jay

I have a 1931 Cadillac Town Car model 355A that currently has Remington Universal Highway Heavy Duty tires that have become flat spotted from sitting too long. I now want to put white walls on the car and was wondering if any of you have suggestions as to the best tires for this particular car that weighs in at around 5000 pounds. Thanks for all your help and continued support! Jay

When I first looked at the picture that Keiser 31 posted of the "DuPont", I said to myself, "That front end looks exactly like my Cadillac!" "It is a Cadillac!" Thought I might have gotten lucky buying a DuPont in drag! Ha! Jay

Don, Beautiful car! I just bought a '31 Cadillac this past week. I'd leave the car the way it is for time being until you actually decide what you want to do with it. Once you go forward, there is no going back! Happy driving! Jay

I ended up going with Intercity Lines. Price was $1550 and as it turned out, they had a truck going through the area on Tuesday, where the car is located. I figured if Wayne Carrini of F40 Motorsports and the television show Chasing Classic Cars uses them, they must be good. Again, thanks to all for the valuable input! It people like you that make it worth while owning a classic car!!! Genuinely, nice people! Jay

Thanks everyone for all the input! Just waiting for one more quote. It seems they all are in the $1,500 - $1,600 range. Regards, Jay

Thanks everyone for your help! Greatly appreciated! So far, Reliable, the transporter for the GM Heritage Collection has had the best price. I'll keep all updated on the experience! Jay

I have recently purchased a 1931 Cadillac that is in the Midwest and would like to get some input into who people think is the best carrier for shipping the car to California. I have used ... and don't think I'd go through that headache again. Thanks! Jay Kingston

I would like to thank those you helped me in finding a hood ornament for my 1934 Buick Model 40 (The Baby Buick). I found a pristine, original hood ornament for a 40 Series from Paul Rickman of Buickregistry.com The hood ornament still had all the original plating and detail from being kept inside for 75 years. Amazing! Anyway, got for $495.00. Again, thanks to all. Regards, Jay Kingston 1934 Buick Model 40 1935 Buick Model 50

Myron, Though you said you didn't want to pay a lot for "gorgeous" mirrors, I actually did from Paul Rickman up in Michigan. They are the art deco style, a maiden with her arms stretched back holding the mirror with sun rays in between. I put them on my 1934 Buck and have had nothing but complements.....though I do watch them like a hawk when I'm away from the car. Paul is a great guy to deal with, extremely honest. His e-mail is Buickregistry@aol.com Good luck.

I wanted to thank everone out there that has helped in my search for a Hood Ornament for a 1934 Buick Model 40. I have been sent an original ornament from a 1934 Buick Model 40 for $495. It is in pristine conditon. Again, thanks to all who have helped out in this quest. Regards, Jay

Dave, I just returned from abroad and saw your question is regards to the Ternstedt number. I honestly don't know which one it is? I did contact Ken Thornton and he had one for sale which I did purchase. It just arrived this past week. I am still on the hunt for another one. Should you come across one, please let me know. I am more than willing to buy it. Thanks again! Regards, Jay 34 Buick 40 35 Buick 50 82 MB 380SL 2004 Bentley Arnage RL 2006 MB S-500

Thanks for sharing the pictures. Had a fun time "scrolling (instead of strolling) down memory lane!" Jay -
Mike, Thank you very much for your input. I am sorry if I came across a bit harsh, and do understand what you are saying. Ewing has been in contact with me and has been a true "gentleman" in our dealings. I was just a bit frustrated when I've been searching for something for so long, then to have someone mention that "it could be worth 1000's" when we know it's not. Again, I appreciate your sincerity. Regards, Jay

I'm the guy looking for the hood ornament. It's unfortunate that people like Norb think that is worth thousands! It's a wonder prices keep going up on over-inflated items. What happened on Wall Street today, which will continue no doubt, is the overinflated way of thinking. That hood ornament will do a lot of good someday when it's worth nothing! Regards, Jay
