My CRT has been having issues.

My CRT has been having issues. The screen does not display anything but the buttons work and the radio plays. There have been times when I'm driving that the CRT suddenly turns on, but it eventually goes out again. What suggestions do you guys have? 

 

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Does the radio display light up when  you press the radio hard button on the outside of the CRT? This might help:  CRT Does Not Light Up But Radio Plays

Thanks for the response, Ronnie. My Reatta has been sitting in my dad's shop for the past couple years so I ended up not being able to troubleshoot myself. My dad ended up sending the CRT to Jim Finn to be restored/refurbished and it seems to be working now. I'm getting the car back this weekend so I'm excited to clean her up and start tinkering.

Keep in mind that while one piece when removed, the CRT and the touchscream/buttons are two separate devices. It is possible for one to work and the other does not.

i didn't know jim did that.

You're right - it was not Jim Finn, it was Eddie Voland that repaired the CRT.  I had been emailing Jim about a different topic at the time and got them confused.
