Chrysler300XMan
This is a complete set of chrome-plated aluminum sill plates for 1941-1942 Buick Limiteds. These plates are stamped with #s H-76659, H-76658, H-76663 and H-76662. They are a complete set removed from a 1941 90F parts car. I removed all of the rusted screws, dissolved the rust and cleaned the plates up as best possible. The are good cores that have some corrosion and light pitting, but the chrome plating prevented any loss of alumnium, even after sitting near/in the ground for many years. As far as I know, these plates are not available as reproductions.Price for the set of four is $250 plus shipping.Karl Pippart, AACA #994829; Chalfont, PA USA
smithbrother
Are the STAINLESS, or ALUMINUM or STEEL plated? I didn't think mine were aluminum, but could be wrong. Aluminum would IMO dent very easy, and stepping on such would make me wonder if they were aluminum. Dale in Indy
Matt Harwood
I think Matt Harwood might be interested. LOL, I already went out and looked at the ones on my car, which are actually in great condition. I still need the rocker panel moldings, but I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll need to splice together some pieces from a lesser series to do that. Fortunately, I have a pretty large cache of 1941 Buick stainless trim already on the shelf... Thanks for thinking of me!
Chrysler300XMan
Matt, When I was in the parts car, I checked the rocker mouldings that were jammed in the passenger's compartment, but they were mangled beyond use. Dale, Bill Anderson's book on 1941 Buicks describes the sill plates as chrome-plated aluminum, and a magnet does not stick to them.

Restorer32
The vast majority of sill plates are aluminum. I've never seen a set in stainless on any car unless someone had a set specially made in stainless.
