Guest jynkin
The glass has a little yellowing, but seems remarkably clear and with no cracks or surface damage. The metal frame is entirely intact. It has some surface rust, but is solid around all sides. The assembly screws in the top corners have sharp screwdriver slots. The top hinge has about 45 degrees of movement, but seems fully functional and likely to have more range if lubricated. The bottom pull is a non-magnetic metal, unlike the frame to which a magnet jumps. Perhaps the pull is an after-market add on. Any help ID'ing this windshield is appreciated. viv w
Hi Ken, The Austin (english) cars of the 30's have that type of windscreen pull handle, not sure if the American Bantam also had them.RegardsViv.
Guest jynkin
thanks Viv. I've been told it's not from a Model A, which was my first thought. Because of the pull I suppose, though I've wonder if it's non-metallic nature suggested that part as an aftermarket add-on. jynkin
Dave Mellor NJ
There would be no reason I can think of to add that handle to a Model A
keiser31
May be from a truck.
Guest jynkin
Yeah, a Model A affiliation has faded from my thinking. We're on a farm here and from a truck, is a likely scenario. keiser31...that's a great long time hold on that '31 Dodge. thanks,Ken K.
