Guest cjhusn777
Anyone know what car this is? Pretty sure it is or was a real car because there is another drawing just like this of an old Bentley. Reminds me of an old Dusenberg, but I don't think it is. Coach built maybe? Thanks,C
nzcarnerd
Just a generic old car I reckon. Not enough detail to be sure what it is supposed to represent.
Guest cjhusn777
Knowing Geo Ham though, I don't think he would draw just any generic old car. He usually did cars that caught his eye. This drawing is from the late 20s or early 30s.
whtbaron
Not sure if he had a model, but I'd sure like to replicate it.
Guest cjhusn777
whtbaron,I am right there with you. Wish I knew if it was a specific model. It it was a real car I have a feeling it was a one off.
whtbaron
The top of the hood/rad seems to be a little square for a Duesenberg, and the hood venting is wrong. This could probably be built with more common body parts. I was thinking that the hood might have to be scratch built to get the louvers right, but the rad and cowl could come off another big car... something like a Moon or a Buick from the early 20's. Those sloping fenders would have to come off of something much later, maybe early 30's unless you have some from the Bentley in your spare parts pile. keiser31
The license plate on it says, "1932"....
whtbaron
I see that now. I was having problems getting that pic to expand but it's working now.
Craig Gillingham
It looks very much like a French car, to me. Especially that tail lamp. It seems a bit long for an Amilcar, but maybe something like a small Delage or something similar.
whtbaron
I was thinking that by 1928 the Delage was much smaller at the rad. This appears to have come from a very large car with a tall hood, or possibly even built on a small truck chassis.
