Barney Eaton
I get the daily Hemmings post and this transmission was on there....... seller says it is a 1939, out of a Roadmaster. I sent him a message saying the '39 had a column shift and this is an earlier year. He replied that the casting number was 1293153-4Are there any clues to the year?here is the link http://www.hemmings.com/parts/item/5632.html?refer=news
1939_Buick
I think, but I could be wrong, that all 320ci's use the larger transmission with a 6 bolt top coverLooks to be a 5 bolt cover, so that means for a 248 ci engineIs it even for a Buick? The casting number does look to be a GM number
Leif Holmberg
I have no Pictures from 1939, but picture tells it looks like a 1936-1937 ser 40,(60-80-90 looks different on the top in 1936-1937) and the parts number on Ser.40 1936-1937 transmission houses are 1293153 .In many cases there are same casting numbers as parts numbers exept for the last -4 in that case.Leif in Sweden.
