Waldren
On the tower(the piece that bolts on the windshield) I have a broken tip that should hold the chain on one side of the drive. Is this repairable or do I have to locate a complete assembly? This on a 1942 LC coupe. Lee
Beltfed
Can you provide a picture of what you are trying to repair? I know of nothing on the wipers that "bolts on to the windshield". Is the part pot metal? If it is you will not have much luck repairing. I went through this with my '38. That year used no chains. I had to hand make half gears from aluminum. DSpringer
I know exactly what you mean. I broke the same hook off mine trying to remove it, before I discovered that you can loosen the bolts that maintain tension on the chain.Even if you have the broken piece it will be difficult to weld back on since I think it's pot metal. I got a replacement part from Merv Adkins. -Dave.

Waldren
that is the bottom part. I broke the matching part in the windshield stack. Lere
John Murphy
Lee, send me a picture of what you broke. Is it the upper gear around the shaft? Would super glue work?
b6vt
Lee, send me a picture of what you broke. Is it the upper gear around the shaft? Would super glue work?My suggestion--Since you have the windshield wiper tower removed from the cowl, get another w/s wiper tower. It should be a simple fix. Repairing it would probably not be a satisfactory solution. I would bet some one has one lying about. Glenn Lorei
