critterpainter Posted April 20, 2007 Share Posted April 20, 2007 The original style mirror for your car would have been screwed to the chrome pillar of the door just in front of the vent window. In many states outside rear view mirrors were not required thil the 60's so many cars were sold new without them, and then retro-fitted when it became manditory.bill Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

As a matter of fact, there is a pair of the correct mirrors for sale on ebay now for $31.50. critterpainter Posted April 23, 2007 Share Posted April 23, 2007 Pete: The e-bay link was to a pair of AFTERMARKET clamp-on mirrors (the give-away is the two set-screws on the bottom plate) Most vendors have these for 25-30 bucks each.
