Barney Eaton
Not sure what a Silver Star is.......but if the bulb will fit into the Reatta mount and you can plug the cable into the back (and it is 12V) you could put any brand you want in the Reatta. No points deducted...at Buick shows the judges do not open the headlights. There is a pre-judging thing called safety inspection where you must show that all lights work and you have a fire extinguisher.... these judges do not remove points, you car is pass or fail. Roadster90
Barney....I am not explaining or using the right terminology....maybe below is better:Newer cars are equipped with a "bulb" taht throws out some awesome light...... Halogen bulb I think (not the blue stuff)My Reatta has a bulb but it is in an large encasement that fits into the mounting ring and then into the housing. This halogen bulb would have to have some sort of mounting gear (or encasement) to fit into the ring and into the headlight housing.Sorry that I am not more informed or know better wording for this
Guest CL_Reatta
I am not quite sure what your asking but here's some info:The standard Reatta headlight is a sealed beam that looks like this: You can buy the silverstar headlights in the sealed beam for around $20 a piece. There are kits that Ive seen that are just the bulb glass and you can then stick whatever bulb you want in a Reatta and not have to worry about buying a sealed beam bulb, but since you said you liked the silverstars, it would not be necceseary to purchase one of those kits since the silverstar comes in sealed beam. The silverstar is not blue, but is very very white light, I forgot what the temperature is, but it is at like the highest temp. just before before blue. Here are some pics, of my before and after silverstar. Before: After: ....ya I know my one running light is burned out

Guest EDBS0
Good choice Nic. Tammy Auto Express Magazine has undertaken Britain's biggest ever bulb test... comparing 40 top headlight bulbs on the market. +50% Philips Visionplus or as Nic went with the North American Sylvania/Osram version +50% - Osram Silverstar
Roadster90
Robert, I didn't get those Osram thingies...I got S/S Sealed Beams.....I don't think they are as good as the other thingies
Guest EDBS0
OSRAM is European and Sylvania is North American, one ownes the other They are both Silver Stars. I know you got the sealed beams. Great bulbs (OK they are Sealed units). Slightly over driven and last not quite as long. OSRAM do not tint blue and are 10% brighter.
