Guest rbl2 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I had a new honey comb core put in my 26 Chevy roadster. The shop that did the work told me they had several old radiators in storage. The one they showed me they thought came from a 1928 or 1932 Dodge. I disagree but I am not knowledgeable in that area.If we can ID it the man said he would sell it. He also said he would make sure it was in good condition before any sale. Here are a few pictures to see if anyone can help ID it. I have more and can take as many as needed. The only marking on the radiator was a number: 382984There is a tag on the top but it says "Baton Rouge Radiator" The man says it was in the shop before he took it over, 20+ years ago.
Guest rbl2 Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Surely someone must have an idea what this radiator would fit. Make a WAG if you have to.
drwatson Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I already spent my "WAG" on the car body in the snowy woods! It didn't get me far. I think I've nailed this one. My 1933 Chilton Flat Rate and parts book says part # 382984 is a "Radiator Core Assembly" for a 1932 Dodge Bros. DL 6 Cyl.
Guest rbl2 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 That's what the owner said, that he'd been told it was either a 28 or 32 Dodge, he couldn't remember which. Thanks. I'll pass that information on.
1937hd45 Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Wonder if that hole in the top tank is for radiator shutter controll?
Guest rbl2 Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 I hadn't considered that. It's possible.
