Greg_bigdaddy Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Here are some other hard to identify cars. I know what one of them is...can you guess which one?
1937hd45 Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Great photos, thanks for posting them. This was a popular event at many local Fairs pre 1910.
Greg_bigdaddy Posted October 19, 2006 Author Posted October 19, 2006 Your right! It is a 1912 Cadillac Model 30 owned by one of the wealthiest oil, ranching, and timber heiresses in Texas at that time; Miss Mamie McFaddin. How about the other one? It's a little harder. All of these photos were taken in Beaumont, Texas after the Spindletop Oil Boom.
Layden B Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Second one has Corcoran sidelamps, long shot a Buick Model 16 or 17?The Cadillac shows a feature rarely seen on restored cars today ( best seen on the rear), the hubcaps are half painted with wheel color. The face and first rib of the cap were originally bare with the space between the ribs and the rib toward the wheel painted, owners now don't seem to know and the caps are not painted ( like later Cads).
