Pontiac59
I have a '57 Special Convertible that has no rearend and the left front A-arms torched off so someone could get a spindle. I need to make it a roller - but it only needs to be able to roll like a couple hundred yards.I also have a '58 Special 4dr, with a very bad frame. But in checking my Motors manual, I see some differences in the front end from '57 to '58, although they share a similar frame design. Can I put the rearend and one set of A-arms on the '57? I don't care if the geometry is messed up or it doesn't sit level, my buyer is not interested in the chassis parts. As it is, it will probably be running a block of wood rather than a spring and may use wire in place of some bolts. In short, it needs to be cobbed together, but it needs to be cobbed so that 3500 miles of jouncing around on an open trailer will not shake the cob-job apart - Thanks. Pontiac59
I just need something that physically fits well enough to make it a roller. The alignment can be a mile off, the alignment can be so out of whack it wobbles like a clown car, it just has to roll fairly straight for maybe 100 feet -
Mark Shaw
I suggest you just fabricate a car dolly.
Pontiac59
How's that easier? It means I have to go buy things. My buyer tells me the parts are basically the same, at any rate, I guess he's done enough of these to know.
