Fuel Rail Pressure Tester

Have one I paid about double the amount from Sears and aHarbor Freight Tester. Have to agree that for eight bucks the fittings alone are worth it.

Find myself buying quite a few oddball bits from HF these days - is a store about five miles away so can look first. $39 (on sale) tire changer has proven very handy.

I dont know why we're having trouble with this. In my original post it clearly shows the ad from the Harbor freight catalog. The part number is shown as a lot number which is #92699. The sale price, which is good through the 28th of this month, is $7.99. In addition to that price , you will have to pay what ever sales tax is required by the state of Illinois.

Again... [color:"red"] See Attached

Jon,

This is probably an in store sale price. Harbor Freight has a store located at 7602 S. LaCross Ave. in Burbank, IL. Phone # is (708) 423-1000. Google Maps shows it here. If you would like, I could go to the Shererville, IN. store today and pick one up for you. Provided, of course, that the have not sold out of them by now. Let me know B-4 12:00 noon CDT today (Sat.)

Update:

My wife (pictured at left) will be in Shererville today and has agreed to pick up a pressure tester. I called the store and was told that they in fact do have them in stock.

HF is kinda like the one time I visited JCW in Chicago. Went to buy an item and on the counter catalog it was several dollars higher than in mine. Retrieved it from the car and the counterman pulled out yet another catablog from under the counter that had the same prices as mine.

HF has so many things on sale at any time that they probably rely on the computer and if it has not been updated...

Meanwhile the Fuel Ingection Pump tester lot no. 92699 is $7.99 on page 21 of flyer 118-1D which ends on 28 August.

When you are on their mailing list, often the ones in the mail have discount coupons that are not in the throways in the store. This month is was 15% additional off of any one item.

I try to buy American made goods as much as possible. Most all of my tools are Craftsman. Both the set I have at work and those in my home garage are. But, every so often I'll buy from HF for one of two reasons.

1.) It's an Item that I'll use only once or only very rarely (I'm talking probably years) Like a Transmission Jack or...

2.) As in the case of the Fuel Pressure Tester, it's just too cheap to pass on.

If it's something that I'll use on a regular basis and needs to last Craftsman, SnapOn or the like are what I'll buy.

I believe that Harbor Freight puts everything in their store on sale at some point in time. I know their Shererville store has a minimum of four major sales a year so it pays to be on their mailing list.

Everyone needs a giant knife with a compass and matches in the handle for $7.99.... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

The closest Harbor Freight to me is 75 miles one way.......well I went yesterday to pick one up and it was about $8, Its a good thing I had other shopping to do, other wise it would have cost me another $25 in gas just to get it (I took my 16 mpg on the high way gas hog instead of my 36 mpg 90 Reatta, was towing a trailer for other shopping)

About Craftsman

I to once bought nothing but Craftsman, but they are getting cheaper and when I took my ratchet in to get it replaced they gave me a repair kit to fix it my self, now they don't give you a new tool they give you a rebuilt replacement, what happens when I break my hammer? are they going to give me a roll of duct tape and a splint?

My craftsman snow shovel they don't even make any more, and when I ask the sales man what will he give me when I bring that in, his reply was a different brand that will no longer give me the "Life time warranty"

I have a lot of Craftman, even have some Penncraft with lifetime warrenties. Husky, Stanley, Pittsburg, Vlchek, & Herrbrand are around and I even have a SUN set (my first metric wrench set) that has proven very good.

My preference is to buy American but increasingly that is becoming impossible (something I suspect will really hurt us someday)

HF is a lot like JCW in that you had better know exactly what you are buying and what you need else you may be surprised when you go to use it. Fortunately there is one about 5 miles from my house and on the way to where a good friend lives so can look before I buy and is mostly oddball stuff.

However for $8 the gauge can be worthless and the fittings are still worth it.

I totally agree, I also try to buy American made products. I make an effort to look at where the product is made when buying and most people would be suprised to find out it's not in the good old USA. I have paid more for an item when I had a choice of one made in American or one made in China. My point I was trying to make about Craftsman is they are getting cheaper just to compete with all the crap coming from over sea.
