OldsDoug
Nice looking little car - I think the wheel covers are incorrect, can't see them all that well. There's a good book by Crestline publishing, I think it's called 75 years of Buick, that will have production figures in it.Doug

(Click on "Library" on the home page.)In addition, you could check out the Buick Club by scrolling down on the forum listings page.Regards,Peter J... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Pete Phillips
You have a 1961 Special Deluxe, model 4119. I have a 1961 Special model 4019. Your car has more chrome trim than mine, and should have carpet on the floor instead of rubber floor mats which mine has. That was the first year for the compact Buick, and the first year for the aluminum 215 cubic inch V-8, which is a good engine, just be careful not to tighten any fittings or spark plugs or bolts too much, or you will strip the threads. Buick made 18,399 of the model 4019 in 1961, and 32,986 of the model 4119. The car was in response to the Studebaker Lark of 1959, the Ramblers of the late 1950s, and the Ford Falcon, Chevy Corvair, and Plymouth Valiant of 1960; also was in response to the increasing number of Volkswagens that were being imported into the U.S. in the early 1960s. The 215 V-8 was later sold to Rover of England, and until just a few years ago, was standard equipment in the new Land Rovers.I will try to attach a photo of my Special. Here in the U.S., they are not worth a lot, maybe $2500 to $3000 for a nice, low-mileage, 4-door sedan.Pete PhillipsSherman, TexasEditor, Buick Club of America magazineThe Buick Buglewww.buickclub.org
