I do know this...try disconnecting the A/C compressor harness. With this disconnected, it should, without power, disengage. Would rule out if the clutch itself is stuck

I am probably using the wrong terms here but there is an air blend flap thingmeeabobber that is stuck. It blends hot and cold air for the desired temperature. I believe it is located behind the cassette player.

Ah...

I've found that the rod that the pitman arm of the HVAC motor thing can either come off or the little plastic adjusting piece can break. I've ziptied mine and has been fine for over a year. Accessed by removing the glovebox (torx screws, all over inside). It'll be right there, not too bad to get to. This is the control for the "blend door"
