wild bill Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Driver side vanity lamps not coming on. Passenger side tests at 12 volts. Driver side zero. Light bulbs are good and all connections I can see look good. Any ideas? Also - how do you get to the rear view mirror lamps?
needtcparts Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 The clear lens do not come out by themselves. Follow the lens towards the center of the mirror and you will see a small slot (like when you change a car alarm battery). Just apply gentle pressure there and the cover should come off so you can replace the bulbs. [color:"green"]
wild bill Posted April 24, 2006 Author Posted April 24, 2006 I took the mirror out to check the voltage and the lamps. Lamps are okay, just not getting power to the driver side mirror.
skydad Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Did you actually test the bulbs or do they just look good? Just wondering, because mine looked fine, but actually was no good. I replaced the bulb and now it works fine. Hope you find your problem.
wild bill Posted April 25, 2006 Author Posted April 25, 2006 Tested the vanity light bulbs in other visor and they worked. Problem is no juice to the bulbs. wires look fine, connections look fine, but no juice to the switch. Thanks, good point!
wild bill Posted April 25, 2006 Author Posted April 25, 2006 Gotcha! Rearview mirror. Found the slots and pulled out the map light. Just need some bulbs now. Thanks! What a club.
