1. I have never seen one of the 16 valve TC's, and didn't know it was only on them. Thanks for the info.
2. What is the little badge behind the front wheels? I don't think I've ever seen one. Thanks.
3. Hey Devan, The TC is a good car and fun to drive and my '89 4 cyl w/auto gets about 26 mpg on the highway. Mine has 49,600 miles on it and I didn't pay anywhere near $7000 Canadian for it. Although you were told in a previous post that the hardtop is subject to leaks, mine hasn't so far in our heavy south Louisiana thunderstorms. Maybe I'm just lucky. My cloth top looks brand new as well and I have the umbrella and tool kit also. Man, you could by a Suburu and a TC for what that guy expects to get from you for his probably worn out TC. With that many miles, I wouldn't even look back as I ran away from that "deal". Good luck with your hunt.
4. I'm 6'2" and around 300 lbs. My TC fits me fine with the top on or off.
5. I almost got screwed by PayPal on an ebay purchase where they paid the wrong person and I ended up filing Internet Fraud and Theft Charges with the FBI, wrote probably 20 letters back & forth to PayPal and this week threatened to sue them in small claims court if I didn't have a full refund within 5 days. They credited my Credit Card just yesterday. I can tell you this, don't be a verified member(I'm not). They did another guy in by paying the wrong person with funds withdrawn from this guy's bank account and he still hasn't been able to recover his money. All I can say is be careful.
6. Think I'll start drinking more after listening to about 15 seconds of the song. Just pulling your leg.
7. 312 is Chicago. 512 is Austin, TX, etc.
8. I don't think the cheap ebay ones are any better than the ones at Wal Mart and the Wal Mart ones are cheaper and you don't have to pay shipping. I bought one for my TC and it fits pretty good. Since it "breathes", it will let fine dust through though.
9. I bought the gas spring for the trunk lid behind the seats. Very good service. Absolutely no complaints. He sells them on ebay most of the time too.
10. Did you actually test the bulbs or do they just look good? Just wondering, because mine looked fine, but actually was no good. I replaced the bulb and now it works fine. Hope you find your problem.
11. My '89 doesn't have a gasket on the W/S frame either. It does have one on the soft and hardtops though, and it doesn't leak there either.
12. Mine was shipped from the Miami, FL area to 50 miles north of New Orleans. It cost $500 door to door even though it was almost three weeks from the time I bought the car until I received it because they were waiting for a full load. I agree with Xtrempickup though, if its fairly close, go get it.
13. Check out the attachment to see who I ran into with my TC today......No more Easter Bunny.
14. Check out this item on ebay...item number 8056728194. This is the unit you need. It has a cassette and CD plus AM/FM Radio. Important, note the position of the mounting lugs. This will mount where your old one is and the plugs fit and all. You should not have to pay more than a little over $100 for one. Mine works great. Good Luck.
15. Don't know about the green one, but here is the ebay auction number to a Black & Tan '90 model with over 200,000 miles on it. 4631256486
