lilredsreatta
Well,it's the wheel bearing for sure it's all froze up. I am looking for a spindle complete with a hub, bearing and axle for left side. Bearing froze up on the axle and can not be removed. Would any other GM's interchange? Jim
I am not sure what other cars parts might fit but I do have several Reatta parts cars and have all of the parts you are looking for. I can be reached at jfinn@cpinternet.com and please include your zip code for shipping purposes.
Guest kennyw
about a buck-20 at a good parts place. Once in a while a little cheaper on ebay. A real bear to replace without the very long special socket. The nut is a lock nut and comes off all the way very tight..... an impact gun is very useful......ken
Guest EDBS0
Jeanna a wheel hub puller is often required to pull the hub off the splines. You may just require the puller. The local Canadian Tire parts stores loan them out here for free.
manikmekanik
New hub & bearing assy. @ $80 at autozone.Try to free the axle from hub first, as axles ain't cheap, it's more likely rust has frozen the axle in place. Don't let a shop sell you an axle you may not actually need.Follow EDBSO's advise and try to remove hub from axle first, check for actual damage to axle/spindle before replacing. Also, (if damaged), check steering knuckle for damage. Both may encurr damage if the hub was left to groan for a long time.Best of luck with your recent acquisition, with a little patience and work, you'll never go back to another "cookie-cutter" type of vehicle.I'll never regret our decision to stick with our Reattae, and Buick products in general. We bought our first one instead of an Allante, I'll never buy an Allante now, just another Reatta, Riviera, Regal or maybe a GN.
Shelby
This would also be a good time to replace the half-shaft or drive shaft(what ever you prefer to call it) You are 90% there
