imported_v12lincoln
Just want to know if anyone has turbocharger a Packard straight 8 and if so what kind of problems did you have, what type of turbo did you use? Thinking of doing it to a 41 120 business coupe with the 282 using a turbo off a tbird turbo coupe should spool up fast enough to get boost at a fairly low rpm. just looking to get around 3-5 psi boost. West Peterson
No... but I know someone who is applying twin superchargers to a Packard 12. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Packard8
I have a similar project on the back burner. Check out Dick Datson's group:http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Carburetedblowers/Lots of good info there in the archives.
Joe Block
I was considering the HY35 off my Cummings it a 359 low RPM engine, but the wastgate set for 20 PSI. It a bid much for a gasoline street engine, but it scream.
Packard8
I believe the Cummins/Holset would work well if you adjust the wastegate or replace the spring.
imported_v12lincoln
the belt driven supercharer looks promising, easy to bolt up and only minor changes.

Guest JT
What kind of connection would you use to carb, direct(with carb modification) or air box?
Packard8
The Edelbrock (AFB) marine series have a sealed (USCG approved) accel pump and butterfly shaft and will take 10 to 12lbs boost out of the box?..just get a carby hat and you?re good to go. Guest JT
What about a 2 bbl application?
Packard8
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">What about a 2 bbl application? </div></div>The 57-58 Hawks & 57 Clippers used a sealed box & 2 bbl. I?m not sure if the base mounting studs are the same as your car, but you could look into it. That would be the easy way to go, as the box has carb adjusting extensions and sealed linkage extensions. It?s cast aluminum and looks pretty cool too. You might have to re-jet the carb to match your motor.
