taskytaskerson
Recently my '89 reatta has developed a sound coming from the front part of the car, somewhere near my feet. It started out a small rumbling, almost like a loose exhaust pipe rattling, but in the last few weeks it has gotten progressivly worse and now it seems like when I push on the gas pedal, it takes a second before the car reacts. It sounds like a loud rattling/rumbling that I can feel in my feet. It's mostly noticeable when I accelerate. Help please!!! Suggestions???????? taskytaskerson
how would I check to see if that is the problem?
padgett
Anytime I hear something like that I have to suggest checking the harmonic balancer (pulley on end of crank) for cracks in the rubber. Is usually most noticable at idle and goes away when revs are higher but can be really serious if seperates so suggest you check. Can use a mirror or feel with fingers but check it. juddev
I had a clogged cat on my fiero, I got under the car and pounded the bottom of the cat with a rubber hammer and I could hear the pieces inside the cat bouncing around.
