Ron S
Does anyone know about those red wheel wells the w-30 and H/O's had? Where they actually red plastic or fiberglass or were they sprayed red somehow?
rocketraider
Injection moulded red plastic. They were identical to the black plastic ones and made in the same moulds, just red. The plastic was for weight savings, red for appearance.
texasred
Not to hijack the thread, but do you mean they were lighter than the black ones? Lighter plastic or thinner?Thanks.C.J.(I always learn good suff from you, Glenn!)
rocketraider
There's no weight difference in the red and black PLASTIC fenderwells. The weight savings was in 66-68 when the standard fenderwell was still metal; after that the red wells were an appearance thing. The W30 red plastic wells were a LOT lighter than the metal ones.
