  1. I'm at the powdercoat the frame stage and noticed that when i replace the balljoints that they will have the grade 8 replacement bolts that replace the factory rivets. Kinda like to have rivets instead ...like it came from the factory. Seems wierd to stick so much money in a restore getting so many things correct and then have to have something like that...So what do you guys do?? The local suspension shops around here have no idea. THANKS
  2. Those come in a complete kit with glovebox bumpers, ashtray, ect. The last time i saw them was at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...sspagename=WDVW that link might get you there, they were about $15
  3. I'm looking for a dual snorkel air cleaner for 68 olds. Any help ? Thanks
  4. Does anyone know where to get the top and bottom radiator cushions for a 68 olds with the 3 core radiator? Yearone and the parts place and BAP don't list them...any help THANKS
  5. Can someone clue me in as to just what kinds of black paint to use under the hood....fire wall( someone called this 30% gloss black) ...core support (looks like gloss black)...and then theres the sheet metal parts that look like yet another type of black but different (some one suggested satin black)...and how about tie rods and backing plates and such stuff? this is on a 68 442 by the way...And is there anyplace to get info like this? THANKS
  6. THANKS, TURNS OUT TO BE KRYLON DULL ALUMINUM #1403 AND A GREAT MATCH
  7. Does anyone know what the correct color of silver that the plastic grill and headlight bezels are an a 69 442? They sortof look dull aluminum or silver with the black as background. Hope this makes sense. Thanks
  8. There is a 68 hurst olds on ebay....says is #212 with hurst olds registry...but has W Z exhaust..wrong.. and says it is a w-45...thought that was a coupe with the post...pic is a hard top...Any help with this would be great..THANKS
  9. Somebody out there must have some knowledge about polishing old chrome and aluminum. Seems like a lot of polishs out there but some must be better than others for various reasons. Has anybody heard of Master Formula ? Its not suppose to be abrasive and the example pic's look great at thier web site. Any input would be great, I'd like to do it right the first time. Thanks
  10. Does anyone know the color of red that 1968 w-30 engines and wheel wells were? Thanks
  11. Billions and Trillions is a HORROR STORY. I recieved a 68 442 rear bumper that i paid thru the nose for and it was total junk. He promised me a straight and rust free bumper and i recieved a bumper that had been ground so thin it was worthless and had rust pockets so deep the local rechromer said it was a crime to have sold it. Not at all what it was supposed to be. When i called him he said he had told me all about it and it was a fine bumper and was unreturnable...what a bunch of CRAP....now i can only hope my credit card company can dispute it and i will only be short the $75 to ship it back...live and learn but i was desperate. Just wanted to add my 2 cents worth and spread the word.
  12. Thanks for the info. I'm running it on a 455 Fa block with toro E heads that have the big valves and hardened seats a mondelo jj20-22 cam with stock #398663 intake and W Z exhaust and a th400. Just starting to put it back together, gonna paint it with the '68 Hurst olds paint scheme and emblems. This will probably make some "matching numbers" guys cringe but we probably will never sell it since we've had it for about 30 years already....thanks again
  13. Does anyone know about those red wheel wells the w-30 and H/O's had? Where they actually red plastic or fiberglass or were they sprayed red somehow?
  14. Can someone clue me in on the difference in a automatic transmission quadrajet and a manual transmission carb? Must be more than just the id numbers..Thanks
