Guest imported_JohnW
My hood struts are weak and will no longer hold up the hood. I found the part number (1628333) however are they still available from GM? Do part supply houses (AZ, Pep Boys) also carry them?
Dales90
A few months ago, Autozone was able to order in a pair. They did say their supplier/manufacturer was doing batches, so only when enough orders had been received........, but they came in about 3 days later, and work great.Dale

decembro
The answer to your questions are maybe and yes. I know that as of a couple years ago you could still get hood struts from the dealer. I know that you can get them from a parts store. Probably one of their biggest sellers. I have a broomstick at work I call my Cadillac hood strut repair kit... ALF1
Both the hood and trunk struts are generic items (fitting many different cars). AutoZone has 'em.-- ALF
