Woodie Progress

Time marches on and progress is actually being mad on the wood for my car.

Of course the doors dont quite fit right yet, but we will get all that solved. This restoration is a lot like a 5,000 piece Jigsaw puzzle.

Anyway here is a picture of the new tailgate. The center is Mahogany while the frame is Ash.

Bill, that is really nice work. This will be an award winner yet...and a beautiful car to drive.

I have an affinity for the '50 Buick. Its nice to one being restored so nicely!

Good work!! <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I remember those days very well. .....Once you get it done, there will be probably be nothing else that you will ever do that will grab as much attention either. If you can get the Buick stuff right, and maintain attention to detail and quality, I'd say that you should place.

.....By the way, we were at Metropolis this past summer and we had the only woodie there, and that car was like a magnet all day long. We got our Junior there, and our Senior at Hershey, but a year ago, our car looked the same as yours does now.

Some advice.....

If you have another car to restore, and the wood is really driving you insane, it really helps if you can walk away and work on something else. When we were having a bad day, with the wood, we'd walk away and work on something else for a day or two.
