Jyrki
I disassembled my 46 Roadmaster front suspension, and found out the front lever shocks are totally seized (I never drove the car). Any advice on how to fix them and what to look for, greatly appreciated.
Fred Rawling
Try Roger Morrow; roger.morrow@home.com
He rebuilt some 1930 shocks and may be able to give you some help.
KAD36
Try Apple Hydraulics -
www.applehydraulics.com
I have had better service, promptness of work, and assurance that the shocks valving was matched left and right for rebound and compression from Apple. Pricing was competitive. If you choose them, I reccommend sending in a pair of shocks so they can ensure they are matched after the rebuild. I highly reccomend them.
Good luck! our51super
I don't know if you are in a position to have them rebuilt but I found CARS Inc., (908-369-3666), to have the best prices on rebuilt lever action shocks.

Guest
Jyrki:
Why not just weld up some new shock mounts and use new shocks that fit? Take all the old stuff off....Knee action is a thing of the past unless your going for a total original restoration....but I know your wayyyyy past that
Tom H......yah im still workin on the 55 Dodge!!!arg!
Jyrki
Thanks everyone. I will try and fix them myself. Tom, the shocks act as the upper control arms, and I want to keep them. You are right, my car won't be restored, but I want my engine bay to look as stock as possible, and I want my car feel old. No chevy, no billet, no tweed. You'd have to crawl under the car to see the mods (T-10 trans, modern rear axle.
P.S. keep working on the Dodge, so you can get started with your "JAWS" Buick
Guest
Tom H suggests taking all that old stuff off and welding on some new stuff. Why not go all the way and put the body on some modern chassis and get rid of ALL the old stuff.
