For Sale: 1964 Ford Thunderbird Hardtop, 59K Miles - $13,500 - Lynchburg, VA

1964 ford thunderbird for sale by owner - Forest, VA - craigslist
Seller's Description:

1964 Ford Thunderbird with 59k miles!  This car is a piece of history from a time when American design was second to none. It has been beautifully preserved in a way you have to see in person to appreciate. The interior is excellent for a classic car with no tears, rips, or cracks anywhere. The exterior is in great shape. The top was painted about 4 years ago, but most of the paint is original. The only trouble spot in the paint is on the trunk lid (as pictured).
There is no rust whatsoever on the body, and you will see that the undercarriage is in immaculate shape. There is some rust on mufflers, but they are still in good shape.  Mechanically, she runs and drives like a dream. The car has the original 390 engine, and the transmission was rebuilt in 2022. The only known issues are that the A/C does not work, and the power steering fluid is leaking (will most likely need new pump).
Let us know if you'd like to have a look. Asking $13,500 obo!

Would like to know the story on this car and why it only averaged 1,000 miles a year driven over sixty years. It certainly looks legit and is in great shape. The only thing it needs is period correct white wall tires, IMHO. One interesting design feature in the interior is that the passenger seat upper cushion can be extended to act as a headrest. In 1965 it was also available with a reclining feature, but not on the driver's side.
