olefre
The heater valve for my 1948 Chrysler New Yorker with dual heaters is not moving, and needs to be replaced. Anyone that has one for sale? c49er
A very hard item to find new, and If found ost likely extremely expensive. Later updated ones (still genuine 1946-48 MoPar) are all cast aluminum but look nearly the same. The one shown is a carry over from 1941-42 cars. olefre
Thanks c49er. I have found reproductions on eBay, but would prefer an original. You write it's a carry over 41-42 on the picture, that is actually the one installed on my car (1948). Does that mean it's not original? Joe Cocuzza
Did you try taking it apart and cleaning and lubricating it? I have had these stuck solid and have been able to free them up
olefre
Yes, I have opened it and tried with penetrating oil and heating it up, but it's not moving. The arm connected to the wire is also loose. An option is to make a new axle, but then I need to get it out. The axle is in brass and seem to be impossible to get out.
