948 Chevy Fleetline. Original dealer option Country Club. Woody. (Not an aftermarket kit). I acquired it from the second owner who purchased it in 1968. Mostly original. Runs perfectly, no smoke, no leaks, rebuilt carburetor, original drivetrain with 6 CYL 216 and 3 speed manual transmission

Wood on these wasn't structural, right? Just applique like, say, a Country Squire?

This was an after market kit (may have been dealier installed?) that was added to the side of the car. Very nice looking but it held dirt and moisture between the wood and metal of the car which would rust the metal and rot the wood in a very few years.

I doubt the blue/gray interior was a n option in '48.

I also think this Chevy would look better without two-tone exterior and painted in a darker color that would complement the wood trim.

Totally agree. This is a bad color to use with the wood.
