1933 REO 3W Coupe - Rumble Seat - $7,500 (Stockton CA)

Recommended Posts

OK...tell me I'm crazy, but I sure like this coupe. Price is way out of bounds for what it is (no paperwork, not running, far from original, etc). Lots of "if's", but presuming you could get that old stovebolt running, and do what normally has to be done to a car in this condition (brakes, lights, fuel system), and add a gallon of fresh primer and reliable tires, I think you'd have a fun project to refine as you see fit. It's not something to flip, and would be a hobby money pit, or a father/daughter or son project.

I don't know if '33 REO's contain a lot of wood. That might just squelch everything.

The price would would need to be negotiated or traded way down in any case. But, man, a 1930's three window coupe been on my bucket list a long time.

I'm not sure if I'm lucky or not, the fact it's a thousand miles away.

Up for sale is a modified 1933 Reo 3 window coupe - engine
swapped out for a GM 250 6 cylinder with auto transmission.
Condition of engine and tranny unknown - car appears to have
last been on the road 2005. Car is solid with some surface rust
but no cancer that I have found. It has a rumble seat that I have
been unable to open - believe something is blocking the deck lid.
The hood is currently off the car although the photos show it on.
Please note that there is no pink for the car - bill of sale only.
Car was purchased out of an estate where the prior owner had died -
no paperwork could be found. Total REO production, all models was
around 3400 - fairly rare car even if modified.

I liked it too! '33 has a high point in looks for many cars, this one among them. Wrong engine but not "ruined" with a small block or something.

Sold by a flipper that knows nothing, maybe he'd make a decent deal....
