1970 Lincoln Mark III $11,500

Recommended Posts

I like that interior, as long as it is correct.

In many cases, I prefer cloth over leather;

I especially prefer velour.

Leather shows all the cracks and creases,

so that even a low-mileage interior looks worn.

Some velours last over 100,000 miles and

still look new!

Now, how does one remove the dark tinting

from the side windows?

The pattern of the seats and doors is one I have seen in leather on Marks. But that doesn’t look like a 1970 clothe.  Why would someone go to such pains to sew in correct patterns but choose a modern clothe?  Or I could be wrong, if it’s truly low miles.

What does the smart crowd think about this interior?

You are correct, it’s incorrect.

Yes correct pattern (surprisingly) but early 1970s luxury cloth was smooth and silky, not textured.
Cadillac introduced “velour” as a limited option in 1972. After that (furry) tactical intensive cloth took off.

The engine is Ford light blue (later years) not the correct Ford dark blue.

A real 36k mile car for $11,500?
It’s not a low mileage car and the seller knows it.
