mjac
The brake light warning system comes on almost immediately after I start up the car. It says the brake pressure is low. Also ABS light and Red light on dash are both on. Parking brake works fine. Fluid level is good, brakes work fine. Pad are good, no noises. Barney Eaton
Go to www.reattaowner.com and read about the brake system and checks you can do. The most common problem is the black ball on the master cylinder assembly (that is the accumulator) The accumulator stores pressure for stops (so the pump is not running all the time) Other potential issure are the pressure switch and sometimes the pump motor itself. The brake system used on all 1988-1990 Reattas was made by Teves in Germany. It was a premium system when it was made and several other manufacturers used . The problem today (30+ years later ) is few mechanics know anything about the system. You can also go the the Buick section of the AACA forum under Reatta and do a search on BRAKES and get tons of information. I also suggest you post any future questions there for a quicker response.
padgett
BTW lights are supposed to go on when you start the car. Should go off 20-40 seconds later.
