I too ended up purchasing a Stutz from the Mark Smith Auction.   I had the opportunity to see the car, and talk to Mark when he had it at Hershey.  Except for overspray on the right side of the car it was in the same condition.  I’m thrilled to be the next caretaker and have been driving the car as many before me have done.

Which one did you end up purchasing?

Wow, how time flys and memory fades. I lost contact with this thread and just found it again.

There is a small brass tag screwed onto the top of each pair of jugs. It reads :

H. H. BABCOCK Co

watertown. n.y.

Motor No. 1233

E. M. M. C.

I would think the EMMC reference will answer the question as to who actually built the engine. Haven’t had time to do much searching myself nor asking the Libraries. My Wife is just beginning a clinical trial 200 miles away……

Gee, now that I learned how to add photos, I’m liable to become dangerous. !!

Brass-is-Class,  Beautiful Moyer !

A good friend here in our Finger Lakes Region HCCA has two.  And the second Moyer Family owned car is being restored not far from its birthplace.
