  1. Weren't there also some auction in '79 and 80/81 while he was still alive? Does anyone have those catalogues?
  2. Along with the Chassis numbers is there a way to decipher the coachbuilder tags on the floor of the Stutz. This is off my late 1929 5 passenger sedan
  3. How's the Stutz cabriolet project coming along? I ended up buying the Stutz Sedan from the earlier auction in October. So I'm sure our cars were together at some point
  4. So it seems it refers to the "Duck" canvas cloth the seats were wrapped in under the leather to provide for a more sturdy construction
  5. The numbers on top correspond to the seat number printed on top of the springs. I'm guessing Duck refers to a type of material. Still trying to ascertain what kind though
  6. While restoring the car I came across the attached tag below the seat Can someone help me interpret what the tag means? Also what material does "duck" correspond to
  7. The 28273 would be a part number on the right hand side. Once you remove the bumperettes you should find the numbers 30557 stamped vertically. Excited to see the progress on the car a year later
  8. The bronze Harrah's medallion identifying the car isn't there so it's proving difficult to get the records. I've joined the club. Awaiting information from there as well. Casting the net as wide as possible in the hopes someone knows more about the car. Sadly didn't come with a lot of prior paperwork apart from Auction material.
  9. Hi I bought this 1929 Stutz M-21 Sedan from the Mark Smith Collection during the first round of auctions back in October 2022. I understand it is an Ex-Harrah Car which was acquired by the Natural History Museum in 1987 when the collection was liquidated / donated. Mark Smith Acquired it in 2016. Any further information would be of great help during the restoration process as the car was acquired mid-restoration
  10. I believe this was the final round of a series of Auctions. There were a series of Auctions over 3 days back in October as well - some rather interesting cars and parts too!!! https://www.proxibid.com/Polk-Auction-Company/MARK-SMITH-ESTATE-AUCTION-DAY-1/event-catalog/226448 https://www.proxibid.com/Polk-Auction-Company/MARK-SMITH-ESTATE-AUCTION-DAY-2/event-catalog/226420?p=7&sort=0#cnTb https://www.proxibid.com/Polk-Auction-Company/MARK-SMITH-ESTATE-AUCTION-DAY-3/event-catalog/226394
  11. Seems it's no longer with the shop Many thanks for your help. The hunt continues. Shivraj
