Guest
I'm writing a story that would tangentaly include a steam engine race car. It's not the main focus, but I do want to be accurate. Specifically, it was a White Steamer. I'm wondering what kind of noise did these cars make? How much smoke did they emit? Did water (steam) escape from the engine? Can anyone guide/mentor me on this? poci1957
Special Interest Autos magazine had a great Drive Report on a steam car a few years ago. You might try to get a copy for reference, sorry I don't recall which issue. They sell back issues, check their web site or Hemmings. Steve Moskowitz
Steam cars raced a few weeks ago in Ormand Beach. The Stanley Club has quite a few racers and their members have a big meet coming up. Go to www.birthplaceofspeed2003.com and you will get some more info. Contact the site...someone should be able to give you the names and addresses of a few of the participants with steam cars.
