Who knows about stated mileage, but a nice car anyway (ignore the continental kit.) From the ad: 1959 Ford Fairlane Galaxie 500 with only 21,305 ORIGINAL MILES.Clear South Carolina title in my name that shows ACTUAL MILES. Original 352 cubic inch Thunderbird V8 engine with 300 horsepower. Original 4-bbl carburetor Original 3-speed automatic transmission. Original push-button AM radio works. Original clock does not work Original interior. (Seats are still covered in the original plastic) Original Manual steering. Original Manual brakes updated with a LEEDS Brakes double bowl master cylinder for safety reasons. Chrome looks wonderful. NO RUST or rust repairs. This CAR LOOKS GREAT and runs GREAT. Maybe it's a '59 Ford guy thing. Or maybe it was just popular for the era. My original '61 Mercury sedan still has the same dealer plastic seat covers (in remnants over the driver's lower seat cushion.) They're discolored and not comfortable to sit on, but they did preserve the seats pretty well. Anyway, most of the time I seem them on cars from the late '50's - early '60's. I don't recall seeing seat covers like that often (if at all) on early '50's or even mid '50's original cars. Not many late '60's cars either. Certainly no cars with bucket seats.
