bakersfield
My first car upon discharge from the ARMY in Oct 65 was a 1965 CORSA Convertible, 140HP, 4-Speed. Black on Ermine White, Red Interior. Since then I have owned at least 30-35 other Corvairs. Almost every model and year made. I MUCH prefer the 140 CORSA over the 180 TURBO. Early Turbos were(in my humble opinion) a pain, and the stock Carter Sidedraft Carb didn't help. You might try BARNEY EATON, as he is well into Corvairs & sources. Also, log on to www.vv.corvair.org and follow the links! This site is Virtual Vairs, and is quite active. Lots of tech help, etc.Have you considered selling your car outright and then looking for a CORSA?CORVAIRS are GRRREEEAAAT Cars!!

The Old Guy
I have a 1967 Corvair coupe, that has just 58,000 actual miles that I would consider trading. It is a plain jane three speed manual with no options. It even has a radio delete plate. I got it in a trade, and really do not need it. If you are interested at all, let me know.I am sure we can come up with a deal satisfactory to us both.

padgett
Many years ago I had a 140 Corsa Convert/4-spd that was autocrossed extensively. Pretty fast with the top and cocktail shakers removed just so BIG. (108" wheelbase). Replaced the four 1 bbls with a single Q'jet and added trombones. Had the very rare 3.55 Posi. Surprised a lot of Camaros and Firebirds. Also had a Fitch Sprint with turbo. Never cared for it as much.Consider my 2.8 Fiero the close equivalent (164 Corvair is 2.7). Are pretty cheap these days. Arrallen
My first brand new car was a 1965 Corvair Corsa convt 140hp 4 speed. White top and dark blue body. Bought it from Nickey Chevrolet in Chicago for $2535.00 taxes and delivery included. Later bought the quick shift and trombone exhaust from J. C. Whitney. Today $2500 will buy you a notch above a junker, how the times have changed.
