classiclines
Not Mine - think this type of car mentioned in another thread lately... https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/d/dallas-ford-thunderbird-convertible/7547537655.html Selling my Thunderbird Convertible due to downsizing & health conditions. Purchased in July 2017 milage 97,230 car was well maintained in very good condition always garaged. There were some minor mechanical issues some I fixed myself others I had repaired by well-known local shops such as Dallas Frame & Alignment rebuilt the ft. end. The only major change was I located a tonnue top I purchased as you can see in the pictures, they did an excellent job matching the paint. Tonnue tops for this style Thunderbird 1964 to 1966 are hard to find. A recent google search came up with only 4 for sale, One in poor condition for 23,900 then other three looked in very good to excellent $38,500 $51,900 & $49,900 All listed by Dealers or some type of car broker. There still remains some, what I consider minor repairs, I purchased a full set of orig. Ford shop manuals including the convertible supplemental manuals. These are very helpful for the do-it-yourselfer. I try to drive the car once or twice a month through town then on the highway for about 10 miles at 80mph to move the fluids around, no problems. Please contact me by phone, text or email for additional info. Ron Threadgill 972/841-75 seven five few more pics in ad

JamesR
Beautiful car. Actually looks great in red (which many old cars don't, IMHO.) I agree about the wheels, though. Easy enough to remedy. They didn't offer the sports roadster option for these fourth gen cars, but you could apparently get the parts from the dealer in '64 to change your convertible to a sports roadster looking car. And '65's looked similar enough to the '64 to make it work visually. These '66's look more conspicuously non-original with the conversion, but I still really like the way this one looks. Nice car.
